Thrive Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a child with very high and complex needs. This rewarding role involves supporting learning, communication, emotional regulation, and personal care while working closely with teaching staff and external professionals. Gloucester

£90–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

Part-Time or Full-Time, Term-Time Only (with potential to become yearround)

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include

Provide consistent 2:1 support throughout the school day
Support learning, communication, and engagement in structured and sensory activities
Implement behaviour support strategies and respond safely to challenging behaviours
Assist with personal care while maintaining dignity and wellbeing
Build a trusting, nurturing relationship with the child
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families
Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include

The successful candidate will have

Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, complex needs, or challenging behaviour
Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach
Confident in using positive behaviour management and deescalation strategies
Comfortable providing personal care
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting the child’s development

Desirable Experience

Previous LSA or TA experience
Experience with complex SEND or highneeds pupils
Training in behaviour management or deescalation
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health & social care, or SEND
