Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with behavioural needs

  • Deliver short, motivating learning activities tailored to the child’s strengths

  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Assist other pupils who struggle to access learning in the afternoons

  • Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to implement support plans

  • Maintain clear, supportive communication with the wider team

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs

  • Ability to build trust and motivate reluctant learners

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach

  • Understanding of SEND and trauma-informed practice

  • Reliability and commitment to consistent daily support
