Some of the key responsibilities of the role include

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons for a Year 2 class. 

  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in line with school policies. 

  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. 

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils. 

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents. 

  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development. 

  • Contribute to wider school activities and events as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). 

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2. 

  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks. 

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills. 

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families. 

  • Enthusiastic, adaptable and passionate about primary education.
